FAQ

Find answers to the most common questions about how Confirmed Jobs works, what our verification badges mean, and how to use Resume Intelligence to your advantage.

Resume Intelligence

Resume Intelligence is an AI-powered feature exclusive to Premium Job Seeker members. It analyzes your uploaded resume against a specific job listing and returns a personalized match score, a breakdown of your matching skills, skills worth developing, and a tailored recommendation.

Think of it as a private career coach that reviews every job before you apply — so you can focus your energy on the roles where you’re most competitive.

The match score is a directional guide, not a guarantee. It reflects how well your resume’s skills, experience, and background align with the language and requirements in the job description at the time of analysis.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • A lower score doesn’t mean you shouldn’t apply — it highlights what to emphasize in your cover letter or interview.
  • A high score is a strong signal, but hiring decisions involve factors beyond skills alone.
  • The score improves as your resume becomes more detailed and keyword-rich.

Use it as one informed input in your decision — not the final word.

Your resume is stored securely and privately in your member account. It is only used to generate match analysis when you choose to run Resume Intelligence on a specific job.

We do not share your resume with employers, third-party advertisers, or any external parties. Your data is used solely to provide the matching service to you.

You can update or replace your resume at any time from your Membership Account page.

Resume Intelligence is available to Premium Job Seeker members. Free members can browse job listings but do not have access to the AI matching feature.

Job Verification

Every job listed on Confirmed Jobs goes through a multi-signal verification process before it’s published. We check a range of indicators to assess the credibility and legitimacy of each posting.

Verification is not a simple pass/fail — it’s a layered assessment that results in one of three badge levels: Gold, Plus, or Basic.

All listed jobs have passed a minimum threshold. The badge level reflects the depth of verification evidence we were able to confirm.

Gold — The highest confidence level. Multiple strong signals confirm this is a legitimate, well-documented opportunity from a credible employer.

Plus — A solid listing with good indicators of legitimacy. Meets our standard verification criteria with reliable supporting evidence.

Basic — Passed our minimum checks. May have fewer verifiable signals but did not trigger any red flags in our review.

We recommend always doing your own due diligence regardless of badge level — especially before sharing personal information with any employer.

No verification system — ours included — can guarantee absolute legitimacy. Our badges represent our best assessment based on available signals at the time of review.

Scammers can be sophisticated. We work hard to catch them, but we always encourage members to stay alert. See our job scam safety tips below for guidance on protecting yourself.

Staying Safe from Job Scams

Even on verified job boards, it’s important to stay alert. Common red flags include:

  • Too good to be true pay — unusually high salary for minimal experience or vague responsibilities
  • Upfront payment requests — any job that asks you to pay for training, equipment, or onboarding is almost certainly a scam
  • Immediate job offers — hired without an interview, or after only a chat message exchange
  • Vague job descriptions — no clear company name, role details, or contact information
  • Personal information requests early — asking for your SSN, bank account, or ID before a formal offer
  • Unprofessional communication — poor grammar, personal email addresses (Gmail/Yahoo) instead of company domains
  • Work-from-home with no verifiable company — remote roles with no traceable company website or LinkedIn presence

Before submitting an application or sharing personal information, take a few minutes to:

  • Search the company name + “scam” or “reviews” online
  • Look them up on LinkedIn — does the company have a real profile and real employees?
  • Check the company website — does it look professional and have real contact details?
  • Search the job title + company on other job boards — legitimate employers usually post in multiple places
  • Look for the company on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) or Glassdoor

If something feels off, trust your instincts. It’s always better to skip a listing than to risk your personal information.

Please report it immediately. Your reports help protect other members and allow us to remove fraudulent listings quickly.

You can report a suspicious listing by contacting us directly at [email protected] with the job title, company name, and what raised your concern.

Winning Your Job Search

Most job seekers apply broadly and hope for the best. Confirmed Jobs gives you two tools that let you apply strategically instead.

Step 1 — Filter by verification level first. Start with Gold-verified listings. These are the highest-confidence opportunities from credible employers — your time and energy are best spent here. Plus listings are also strong. Basic listings are worth a look, but apply your own judgment.

Step 2 — Run Resume Intelligence before you write a single word. Before you touch your resume or cover letter, click Resume Intelligence on the job card. Your match score tells you three things immediately:

  • High score (75%+): You’re a strong fit. Your resume likely just needs minor tailoring to mirror the job’s exact language. Apply with confidence.
  • Moderate score (50–74%): Real potential — but gaps exist. Use the “To Develop” list to identify what the employer cares about most, then address those skills directly in your cover letter or by reframing existing experience.
  • Low score (below 50%): Don’t skip — use it as a diagnostic. The matched skills section shows what you do bring. Lead with those in your application and acknowledge you’re growing in the gap areas. Or save this role for later and focus on stronger matches first.

Step 3 — Tailor, don’t rewrite. You don’t need a new resume for every job. Use the matched skills as your checklist — make sure those exact terms appear in your resume. Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) scan for keywords before a human ever sees your application.

The members who get callbacks aren’t always the most qualified — they’re the ones whose resumes speak the employer’s language.

Understanding what happens on the hiring team’s side gives you a significant edge. Here’s the reality most job seekers don’t know:

Most resumes are screened by software, not people — first. Before a recruiter reads your resume, an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) scores it against the job description. Resumes that don’t include the right keywords get filtered out automatically — often before any human sees them. This is why mirroring the language in the job posting matters so much.

Recruiters spend 6–10 seconds on a first scan. If a resume passes the ATS, a recruiter typically skims it in under 10 seconds to decide if it’s worth a closer read. They’re looking for: a recognizable job title, relevant company names, and clear evidence you’ve done the job before. Dense paragraphs, creative formatting, and buried accomplishments all work against you.

Hiring managers care about outcomes, not duties. Once your resume reaches a hiring manager, they want to know what you achieved — not just what your job description said. “Managed training programs” is weak. “Designed and launched onboarding program that reduced ramp time by 30%” is what gets interviews. Wherever possible, quantify your impact.

Speed matters more than you think. Many hiring teams fill roles within 2–3 weeks of posting. Applications submitted in the first 48–72 hours are significantly more likely to be reviewed. Set up alerts, check Confirmed Jobs regularly, and have a tailored resume ready to go fast.

Cover letters are read when you’re on the fence. Recruiters rarely read cover letters for every applicant — but they almost always read them when deciding between two strong candidates. A specific, confident cover letter that directly connects your experience to the role’s needs can be the deciding factor.

How to apply this on Confirmed Jobs:

  • Filter for Gold and Plus verified listings — these employers are serious and active
  • Run Resume Intelligence immediately when you find a role you want
  • Copy keyword phrases from the “Matched Skills” list directly into your resume
  • Address the top 2–3 items from “To Develop” in your cover letter — show self-awareness and a growth mindset
  • Apply within the first few days of a listing going live
  • Follow up once, professionally, 5–7 business days after applying

The job market rewards preparation and timing. These tools exist to give you both.
